I can't find the reference now, but there was a great story that an organisation was testing security at airports around the world, by taking a suitcase to the airport and leaving it there, timing how long before it got stolen or identified.

The exception was Johannesburg, where the car was hijacked enroute, and the suitcase never made it to the airport

Collega van me zorgt als ie op Johannesburg vliegt (doet veel safariwerk = 2x per jaar een maand naar Afrika) dat ie alles wat ie echt nodig heeft in de handbagage stopt. Hij heeft te vaak een koffer teruggekregen die "open geweest" was op dat vliegveld. Hij boekt om die reden zelfs vaak een extra stoel om zijn 600mm veilig te kunnen vervoeren (platinem card KLM dus dan is dat wat makkelijker).
