Nikon Software onder Snow Leopard

Het draadje over Snow Leopard werd nogal vervuild door het geprutst van Nikon, daarom even een nieuw draadje met de bevindingen tot heden.

Initial testing of Nikon’s software applications with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, reveals compatibility issues with current versions of Nikon Capture NX 2, Nikon Camera Control Pro 2, Nikon View NX, Nikon Transfer and Nikon Scan. At this time, we are not able to recommend the use of Nikon applications with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
The launch of a new OS typically poses compatibility and timing challenges for the OS maker, third-party application developers and, of course, the OS users. The inconveniences associated with early compatibility issues generally disappear, as time allows developers to adapt to the new OS.
Nikon is eager to complete a thorough analysis of Snow Leopard compatibility and is equally eager to apply the findings to effective solutions, where available. We will complete this work as quickly as possible, but require a reasonable period of time to complete it thoroughly. Additional Snow Leopard compatibility information will be provided as it becomes available.

This announcement provides the latest information regarding the compatibility of the Macintosh versions of our digital camera software with Mac OS X version 10.6.x, "Snow Leopard":
We are currently testing the compatibility of the Macintosh versions of our software products with Mac OS 10.6. We will announce our findings once testing is complete.
We plan to provide compatibility with Mac OS X 10.6 for the following products and the associated software applications (excluding some older applications):
D-series SLR cameras
Coolpix - series compact digital cameras that support USB connection (excluding some older models)
Software:
1. Capture NX 2
2. ViewNX
3. Nikon Transfer
4. Camera Control Pro 2
5. nik Color Efex Pro 3
6. WT-4 Setup Utility / Thumbnail Selector
We do not plan to provide anything additonal to what is not provided with Mac OS 10.5.x detailed below* :

Other software applications:
Nikon Scan:
SUPERCOOLSCAN 9000 ED, SUPERCOOLSCAN 8000 ED, SUPERCOOLSCAN 5000 ED, SUPERCOOLSCAN 4000ED**, COOLSCAN V ED, COOLSCAN IV ED digital film scanners.
Our initial testing of Nikon Scan version 4.0.2 and most scanners above showed no problems**. Preview, Edit, Scan, and Save operations were successful.
Installing the 4.0.0 full version, then the 4.0.2 update took longer than usual to complete.
Batch scan options were inhibited in some cases and a single scan option was substituted but possible.
** The LS-4000 does not operate properly with either the SA-21 strip film adapter, the SA-30 Roll Film adapter, or the SF-200 Bulk feeder on Mac OS X 10.5.x. The SA-21 may run continuously until film is fed into the holder, and the SF-200(s) or SF-210 does not initiate or operate at all. It is recommended that OS 10.4.11 is used instead of OS 10.5.x for Nikon Scan applications for full compatibility.
* We do not plan to release compatible versions of the following software applications:
- Capture NX (ver.1.x)
- Nikon Scan
- Nikon Capture
- Camera Control Pro (ver.1.x)
- Nikon View
- Wireless Camera Setup Utility
- PictureProject Coolpix Connect Remote Control
- Wireless Connecting Utility
- WT-3 Setup Utility
